'DON'T TELL ME THE SKY'S THE LIMIT WHEN THERE ARE FOOTPRINTS ON THE MOON.' —PAUL BRANDT
Riverviews Artspace presents an exhibition in celebration of flight in all of its historical, metaphorical, and symbolic possibilities. This group exhibition will feature the astrophotography of NASA astronaut and Lynchburg native, Leland Melvin, along with a number of local artists and those from around the country. The exhibition is sponsored by The Lynchburg Regional Airport and will coincide with events at Amazement Square, Anne Spencer House, Legacy Museum and Anne Spencer House & Garden all of whom will be celebrating the specific accomplishments of the Tuskegee Airmen.

The Sky Is Not the Limit opens on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm in the Main Gallery and will remain on view through June 13, 2024.

You won’t want to miss this one-of-a-kind First Friday! It promises to be an unforgettable evening for all ages. Discover the intersection of art, science, and solar observation in a unique way in our Pop-Up Planetarium, sponsored by Amazement Square.

Plus, this will be the opening night of the Jubilee Student Art Show with works related to Flight and there will be a special talk at 6:30 PM by Anne Spencer House and Garden's Executive Director, Shaun Spencer-Hester titled, “Who is Chauncey Spencer?”

Enjoy live music by Selah Vie, and wander through our galleries and visit open artists studios to see where all the magic happens. Meet NASA astronaut and Lynchburg native, Leland Melvin. Bring your copy of Chasing Space to be autographed by Leland Melvin.
