Join us for a canvass launch in Ward 3 on Saturday, May 25
James Coleman is running for Lynchburg City Council in Ward 3. James is a Former School Board Chair and Planning Commissioner, and Professor at Virginia University of Lynchburg — and we are so lucky to have him in our community! Ward 3 has been historically under-canvassed, and we're ready to get out there and make sure that voters know about what an amazing candidate James is! If you haven’t canvassed before, don’t worry — we’ll pair you up with an experienced volunteer and provide a brief training and materials to get you started.
Show Your Support for LYH Queer Town Hall
LYH Councilman Marty Misjuns has accused LYH Queer Town Hall and a member of our progressive community of being “radical extremists.” In response, the Democratic candidates for LYH City Council have just issued an open letter in support of LYH Queer Town Hall. If you would like to sign on to the letter (and we hope you will!) please add your name here.

Sign up for our Lynchburg City Budget briefing on April 10
Please join us on April 10th at 7:30pm to learn more about the proposed FY 2025 Lynchburg City Budget. After draconian property tax cuts pushed through by Republicans last year, we’re now facing shortfalls and cuts to important city services. This briefing will summarize the key facts and get you ready to attend (and maybe speak!) at the public hearing on April 16th.
